* Backup Tool, useless column sort default (*)

* Start Menu & Desktop tool, also searches My Documents folder

The following not reported (as far as I remember) bugs should also now be fixed:

* Start Menu & Desktop tool sometimes lists duplicate items.

* Check for Updates window sometimes contains the Download link even if user is running the latest version.

These fixes and improvements will be present in the next released version of the product. The updated versions of each product should be released within one week.

This sounds more like Windows / video card driver related issue. Is someone else also seeing this?

The first one happens infrequently on the ~5 year old HP laptop and ~2 year old HP desktop. It only occurs in list type windows, and the pattern is always the same (small pieces of black scattered around the margins of the running count area, no readable characters). When it happens, it shows when the task is finished regardless of the position or size of the window.

It happens very, very infrequently while the tool is running -- you can see part of the running count numbers -- the part you can't see (white space) is scattered around the margins of the running count area.

The second one occurs even less frequently, and only in response to mouse operations.

If I can get a screenshot of any of this on my laptop while traveling, I'll post it here.

Here's what the running count area looks like when it happens after a tool finishes. It has only happened twice in the last two weeks. Drag resize or minimize/restore clears it.

The three Registry Cleaner "Never show" bugs are still present in this version. Here are descriptions of the current behavior:

Bug A:

1. Delete SuperRegIgnoreList.dat, then start PT, run Registry Cleaner, and add three items from the list to the "Never show" file which then looks like this:

hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\directdraw\mostrecentapplication\id

hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\directdraw\mostrecentapplication\name

2. That looks correct, but when you close the RC results window and click Start on the tool window to rescan, the three items still show in the results list

3. It seems this bug is now "all SuperRegIgnoreList.dat strings don't work"

4. SuperRegIgnoreList.dat contents remain as above when you close the results window, the tool window, and the main window ... Added note: in v 1.7.0.422, when you close the main window, SuperRegIgnoreList.dat is overwritten and contains nothing. In other words, Bug C below now always occurs.

5. When you again start PT and run Registry Cleaner, the three items still show in the results list

1. Originally, this bug happened when you added new items to the "Never show" list then did a rescan, and the new items showed anyway (and the old ones, correctly, still did not) even though SuperRegIgnoreList.dat was correctly updated

2. Because of Bug A in this version, it is not possible to do a test to see if Bug B is corrected

If you start with an empty or non-existant "Never show" list, as done in the Bug A description, SuperRegIgnoreList.dat remains correct even when you exit all the PT windows, including the main window ... Added note: in v 1.7.0.422, this no longer applies -- see Bug A bullet 4 above. In other words, Bug C now always occurs.

2. However, if SuperRegIgnoreList.dat is already populated when you start PT (for example, with the three items shown in the Bug A description), Bug C occurs

3. Additions you make to the "Never show" list are correctly written to SuperRegIgnoreList.dat

4. SuperRegIgnoreList.dat on disk stays correct when you exit the results window and the tool window

5. When you finally exit the main window, all the changes in SuperRegIgnoreList.dat are overwritten with the original ("already populated') content that was in the file when you first started the PT session
