I usually keep "ActiveX/COM/DCOM/OLE/DDE" unchecked in the RegCleaner, so I didn't notice this recently. But I ran a scan with just that checked, and got 172 errors, mostly having to do with nvmccs.dll. The problem is that most of the entries show only the name and/or path of the file as the error description. But the file is there! So what's the error?
Here are some examples;
Medium, HKCR\CLSID\{1DFF7AF4-559F-4023-9D2D-8DB813317DEA}\, @, SizePosition Class, C:\Windows\system32\nvmccs.dll, 12.07.2007, 14
Medium, HKCR\CLSID\{22C03B0C-3222-4fac-8650-8A4D50EBFE54}\, AppID, {22C03B0C-3222-4fac-8650-8A4D50EBFE54}, C:\Windows\system32\nvmccs.dll, 12.07.2007, 14
Some show up with errors with real descriptions;
Medium, HKCR\Nvmccs.ColorSettings\CLSID\, @, {22C03B0C-3222-4fac-8650-8A4D50EBFE54}, Invalid ActiveX/DDE/COM/DCOM/OLE item, 12.07.2007, 14
These nvmccs errors have been showing up since forever; even back when I had XP, and with 3 different computers! If I delete them, they come back when I install the next nVidia Forceware driver.
So my questions are;
1. Why do most of the entries show just the file name in the error description? Especially since the file is there?
2. Are these really errors? Is nVidia so stupid that they never fix errors even over years?
3. How can I determine if/why these are really errors? How does the RegCleaner determine this?
BTW, the result is the same for JV16 and RegSupremePro, and is the reason I keep "ActiveX/COM/DCOM/OLE/DDE" unchecked since these are all that ever get detected. :?
