jv16 PT 2007 v1.7.0.411 - Issues in History Cleaner

History Cleaner does not finish anymore in this version, while I had no problems in the previous version(s) :?

The progress bar stops after 2/3 and the program's frozen.

Windows Taskmanager says jv16 PT 2007 doesn't respond anymore and the program must be killed to exit, because I can't click any button.

I tried in Windows Safe Mode: nothing to do, same problem: the progress bar stopped after 3/4 and the program's frozen.

Is that a BUG in the new version? I repeat I hadn't that problem in previous versions with History Cleaner.

I specify this happens every time I try to run that tool.

I have the same problem using the Registry Cleaner in 1.7.0.411.

The program stops responding when I use the fix-button, then I have to kill the program to exit.

1.7.0.405 works fine, so I am back using that version again. 8)

I still don't understand...

I went back to the previous version 1.7.0.405 and History Cleaner gave absolutely no problems.

I reinstalled version 1.7.0.411 and the same problems I described in my first post of this tread reappeared.

So I think this must be an issue.

What does jv16 thinks about it?

Is there a possibility to run in debug mode, so we could find my problem?

Sounds strange, as there were no major changes made to this tool, but I'll fix it.

So that is why v 1.7.0.411 shows twice the count for registry MRU entries as shown by v 1.7.0.405. It spends 11 to 12 times as long to pick up all the duplicated HKUS/HKCU, when only one of each pair is needed for deletion and backup purposes.

Amazingly, I get the same result in 411 if I abort after 6 seconds as I get when it runs for the 70 seconds.

Except for those duplicated counts, the lists in 405 and 411 are the same on my systems. I actually prefer the faster method ...

This simply means the thread doesn't find anything. I have now made the thread work a bit faster, everything should be good in next version.

when is this new version coming out? I have been unable to use 411 since it came out. Just hangs forever when i do the select all, except occassionally it works, or says it does. Never had any problems b4 with this program, its been great.
