The following bugs are also now fixed:

Directory Finder, incorrectly finds and lists two directories

Start Menu & Desktop tool, fails to search part of the Start menu

Start Menu & Desktop tool, six bugs ... : All six bugs fixed, and I even have a bonus to throw in: there was a rather long, about 5-10 second delay when you clicked Start on the Start Menu and Desktop Tool. The annoying delay is also now removed.

Also, the adding of directories to the Directory Tool now analyzes the number of subdirs and files of the added dirs.

These bug fixes and improvements will be available in the next released version which will be out today or tomorrow. Thank you for reporting.

New issues, partial fixes in v 1.7.0.411

Main window

Show menu has only the "All tools" option.

Start Menu & Desktop tool

1. Select and Tools-->Search do nothing. After the fixes, the list has 109 lines -- need the features to aid analysis …

2. Tool also searches My Documents and there is no way to stop this from happening ...

3. Deleted all, then restored. After restore, the list had only 107 lines …

Scan improvements … ?

I have been getting no hits with the aggressive scan -- that's because:

1. Before the Registry Cleaner, I use the History Cleaner -- that takes care of the MRU entries

2. v 1.7.0.xxx versions seem to be very, very conservative when it comes to the ActiveX/COM/DCOM/OLE/DDE scan (and probably some other scans as well)

3. That scan in 1.7.0.xxx has yet to find anything significant

4. CCleaner found and removed scores of keys and over a thousand entries safely (at least for my Vista system); over half were "ActiveX/COM" issues

5. During the PT2007 betas and RCs, PT2007 found none of them

6. I can restore the CCleaner backups and see if a new PT version finds more

7. v 1.7.0.411 found 33 entries …

8. On the other hand, PT finds items that CCleaner doesn't find …but I haven't tried to track that difference ...

Note: these observations are not a complaint -- safety is a desirable approach when it comes to registry cleaning …

4. CCleaner found and removed scores of keys and over a thousand entries safely (at least for my Vista system); over half were "ActiveX/COM" issues

After I got my "stupidity" repaired, V1.7.0.411 found and cleaned scores of these on my Vista Business system.

Per a topic in the Technical Support Forum, there's some sort of problem in the ActiveX/etc scan (maybe been there in some form since PT2007 day one ...).

After a potential fix for it, I'll restore the CCleaner hits and try again

Finally the automation tool registry cleaner via desktop launch is fixed, running perfect!

Also deleting backups which were created using the automation tool, now gives the are you sure warning.
