Version number

Just a silly question: The version number of the latest update for jv16 Power Tools 2007 (v.1.7.0.405) is a smaller number than the version number of the original version I installed in the past summer (v.1.9.0.388). Isn't this an inconsistency? Probably not but in my experience, newer software versions always have a larger version number. I would appreciate any comment. Thanks, Laci. P.S. BTW, how do I insert an emoticon??

From where did you download this version in the past summer? Because we have never releaesd such version. Are you use you are not meaning 1.7.0.388?

All our new software have a larger version number, as one would expect.

Thanks for the quick reply ( ). I might have made a mistake when I wrote down the number of my first version last summer. I have both setup.exe files (the old one was created on Saturday, June 09, 2007, 6 PM, the new one on Wednesday, August 15, 2007, 7 PM. The old one is 1.77 MB (1,864,855 bytes), the new one is 3.01 MB (3,162,349 bytes). I can only read the version number of the (new) updated version. (Is there any way I can find out the old correct version number without reinstalling it?) You might be able to find out the version number by the size. But I am sure now that I must have made a mistake when I wrote down the original version number. Thanks anyway (and I clicked on the emoticons but deleted them because I only saw the letter symbols in the preview, and I thought they won't appear in the final version : . - Laci.
