When I start up RegSupreme Pro 1.7 Beta 1 in an Administrator account, the toolbar starts minimized in the taskbar. I have to click it once and wait a second or two before it pops up. But when I start it in a Limited User account (where it will not work anyway), it opens up properly maximized.

These bugs are now fixed:

* Backup Tool, Custom Restore, context menu restore does not work.

* Registry Cleaner, Abort bug

* Backup Tool, no status indicator when restoring

Note: It's not possible to show a very well working status bar when restoring only a single backup with only registry entires included. This is because the actual restoring of the backup is done by Windows, so it's not possible to get progress information to PT. But, the progress bar is now improved to show the status of backup restores with e.g. many files.

* Registry Cleaner -- 2 small bugs -- Raw list only

* Registry Cleaner, Scan Report counts & statistics not reset for rescan

The next version will contain these fixes, the next version should be released later today as RC1, or tomorrow. It is weekend, after all :

The bold part is what matters -- most registry item restores (even multiples) are done in a flash ...

Some issues uncovered here also exist in PT2007 v.1.7.0.405. Both current PRELIMINARY "Advisories" now show these issues.

When you do File-->Save list as… and provide a filename, the dialogue says the file already exists, although it does not exist. When you then tell it to overwrite, a new file is created, which was the intent anyway ...

The list below, as you can see, is missing the data fields description, and I think much of the data ... I thought perhaps all that was a side effect of the blank raw list bug ... in case anyone wants to see what I expected, a short list from PT2007 is after the RSP list ...

I'm not 100% positive, but this bug should also now be fixed:

* Registry Cleaner, Custom Fix (Vista)

I was able to locate one bug, fixing of it required some rather major changes to many different components but it's now fixed. I hope this was the bug that caused the problem you reported. I can't be sure because I have never been able to reproduce the problem myself.

I think this was caused by the blank raw list bug, the bug is fixed in my version and it saves the list perfectly.

Makes sense -- probably one of those temporary discontinuities I noted in the RegSupreme Advisory ...

Thanks. I think I was just used to the old version. And in the limited user account, since it apparently doesn't have much to construct, the window appears quicker, which probably explains the difference with the Admin account. If it is still a problem with RC1, I will let you know.

I tested the latest beta and found that after running the registry cleaner on aggressive, some registry entries found as errors were actually needed by their respective programs. Example: "Fengtao" registry entry was chosen as an error but its associated program "DVDFAB HD Decrypter" is valid and resides in the Program Files folder on drive C:.

I am a licensed user of RegSupreme Pro v1.4 and it correctly passes those entries that are still valid when the Registry Cleaner on the aggressive setting is used.

Maybe, those entries, such as the Fengtao entry mentioned above, really don't need to be there. I wouldn't know but my guess that JV16 would
