RegSupreme Pro 1.7 Beta1 is now released, you can download it from:

(if the link doesn't work, it means the beta testing for this version has already ended)

Warning

Do not install this program over any previous version of RegSupreme Pro, always install beta and RC versions to a new directory. This product version is not an official release, it will contain bugs and can cause harm to your computer. Do not download or install this program unless you are willing to take the risk and understand what beta testing means.

On Beta Testing

All beta testers who submit valuable feedback, such as bug reports, performance reports, improvement ideas etc, will receive a free personal license for the product after it has been officially released. Simply installing and testing the application doesn't mean that you would automatically receive a free license, free licenses are issued only to those who submit valuable feedback.

General Release Notes

* All the current translations are included in this version, although they need some minor adjustments to be compatible with the new RegSupreme Pro, RegSupreme and jv16 PowerTools products. Feel free to do these modifications and send the updated translation files back to us, there shouldn't be any more changes to the translation files.

* The Help > Check for updates feature doesn't yet work, this is a known issue.

* This version doesn't work with Windows 9x (most likely crashes)

After using the Registry Cleaner portion, I was unable to access the "settings" option in the "Tools" menu. A click on "settings" does nothing. Am I doing something wrong? I am running Windows XP Home Edition (2002) Service Pack 2 on a Dell Dimension B110. Intel Celeron(R) 2.53Ghz. 1 GB memory. Integrated graphics. Thank you for your time.

I performed a registry scan in normal mode with the reg supreme beta and then the latest version of power tools registry clean. The results are as follows:

reg supreme found 230 errors and leftover data of 14 keys and 6 entries

power tools found 209 errors and leftover data of 13 keys and 1 entry.

I also noted that speed, based upon the threads used is drastically different.

Power tools started with 14 threads then started reducing itsself until it had 3 threads opened and went to 1 at the end.

Reg supreme started with 6 threads and went to 1 and stayed there until finished.

I didn't put a stop watch against it but the registry cleaner in power tools was much quicker.

I think that it is notable that the beta found 21 additional registry errors.

Interesting that there is no display in raw mode but I can select all the items using the menu and it displays that it has selected them all. Additionally the items can be saved in a text files and everything is there. Just seems to be a minor problem printing the data to the screen on the displayed form.

No you are not, this is indeed a bug in the program. The program shouldn't show the Settings option in the Tools menu at all. This will be fixed in the next version, thank you for reporting.

I have a widescreen monitor and the Registry Manager only shows only a few pixels of the bottom line on the lists that go beyond the screen. You can scroll down but the last line is unreadable. This makes the Registry Manager almost useless for those with widescreen monitors. My screen resolution is 1050 x 1680.

the Select>all doesnt work in the Registry Compactor. In fact, few of the dropdown commands work--nothing under Select, only Show Main Window and Backup under Tools, etc

Registry Cleaner, Structured list, Vista

When you do File-->Save list as… and provide a filename, the dialogue says the file already exists, although it does not exist. When you then tell it to overwrite, a new file is created, which was the intent anyway ...

This did not happen in the Raw list.

Added note: this issue is also in PT2007 v.1.7.0.405 ... it is probably a Vista-only problem (I couldn't make it happen on my XP Pro system -- happens every time on my Vista system).

Yeah, Jepe is correct, the language menu will only show if there are at least two valid translation files in the languages directory.

Thanks -- I copied the 3 apparently applicable lines from English.lng into German.lng and voilà -- a Language menu.

I'm sorry but I don't understand at all what seems to be the problem, could you please send a screenshot if this a graphical problem?
