JV16 PowerTools 2007 Registry Cleaner hangs

Please help,

I'm using JV16 PowerTools since many years. I was always udate with the latest version. Today I made the update with version 1.7.0403. When I started the application no problems, it tells me that it will work correct on my system. But Registry Cleaner freezes after a short time.

Event ID 1002, hungapp.Version 0.0.0.0. Stillstandsadresse 0x00000000

So I deinstalled an reinstalled it. Same problem again. My system is Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2 with all latest update.

What can I do!?

Have you tried the 1.7.0.404 version? I did some changes that I hope would fix this problem.

I'm testing every updated version of jv16 PT 2007. Only my old "jv16 PowerTools 1.4.1" version works correctly.

If you say that the newest 1.7.0.404 version can fix this problem, I will try. I'll write what happened in my case.

I hope it will help me - jv16 is my favourite reg. cleaning program. I don't want to use a different software!

Today I have tried newest 1.7.0.404 version. I started RegCleaner and I was waiting for about 6 minutes that RegCleaner finish his work. Result - the application was freezing total. I had to use the taskmanager to finish the application, same event ID 1002.

Please help.

Today I made an update with an optional fix of Microsoft KB938828. I think it fixed some issues of the internet explorer 7. Then I updated my Office 2003, the Office Update side of Microsoft showed me some new fixes which I had never seen before. At least I installed the new graphic driver of Nvidia for Windows XP Vers. 162.18. Then I started JV16 PowerTools 2007, the RegCleaner. And oh wonder - it works without any problem!!!!!

The real reason, why it didn't work before I don't know still. I think it is the Microsoft optonal fix KB938828.

Maybe this will help you. Please let me know if you get success.

I've instaled this Microsoft fix - KB938828, but it didn't solve my problem. JV16 still hangs. I have to find different reg cleaning software. Too many mistakes and bugs. As I wrote before, my 1.4.1 version works fine, but it's rather obsolete software. THANKS!!! :
