jv16,
Sorry, perhaps I did not make myself clear. My query concerns "File Finder". My point was that "File Cleaner" finds files OK, but "File Finder" does not.
Example:
In "File Finder" I set it to find all files (without quotes) "*.doc, *.txt, *.rtf" in (abbreviated here), C:\Doc & Sett\Mr S\My Docs\Commonplace Book. So it only had to look in that one file. I said "all files created after 1 Nov 1998", I had "Skin Deep ... " disabled and "Skip Directory ... " enabled.
On clicking start I get the "File Tool" window. A box pops up v. briefly saying "This might take several minutes, please wait" and then disappears immediately. I have waited several minutes, but only get the window with empty columns, "More Functions" and "Remove" greyed out, and only "Close" active.
So I closed !
What do I not understand ? The file quoted has plenty of "doc, txt and rtf" files to find. I have tried other directories and folders for eg: *.scr, but nothing happens. :(
I used "Registry Cleaner" to great effect, and printed off all 61 pages of your handbook, so I must be doing something right.
Should I try a fresh download - uninstall and re-install ?
