Updated - now I always get error messages

Hi,

I updated today to the latest version 1.7.0.398 now *every* time I exit the program I get the windows error message (in german), which says, that the program does not work anymore and windows is searching for a solution.

I first installed the update on top of the old version (as recommended on the website) . Then uninstalled completely and reinstalled- always the same error-message

Any hints?

Why is the 398 still available for download? It seems with such a major problem with this build, it's best to remove from download site. This just adds to the many unstable builds that have been released for the 2007 jvtools & leaves a bad impression on many users.

We define a major problem to be something that can harm user's computer. The program crashing when closing it is not a major problem but rather an annoyance.

A fixed version should be ready and released later today.

A fixed version should be ready and released later today.That is good news. About the major problem thing, there are people who even can't get this version started, (I'm one of those). "runtime error 216 at 0040439A". I think that's a little more than an annoyance. :)

On update on this: the fixed version should be out tomorrow or Monday at least.

Three questions please:

When the fixed version comes out will it work on Vista home premium 64 bit?

Will the update of 2007 recognise my ownership of version 2006 or do I have to buy a new licence?

I tried to sign up for the newsletter (twice) but never received a verification email - can this be fixed in the forum's setup please?

I'm afraid not, we are still working on the Vista 64 support. The next version of PT should work in it but I wouldn't recommend using the registry cleaner in it before we get it Vista 64 compatible.

There's of course no need to buy a new license, jv16 PowerTools 2007 is a free update for all customers with a license for PT 2005 or 2006.
