Features I'd like to see:
- MMC snap-in
- Registry "defrag" with option to defrag after cleaning
- Customizable entries for the history cleaner with a way for users to share (even if just posting entries in the forum)
- Organize the file cleaner results in a collapsable tree view by location
- Resize all windows
- Search for corrupted files and maybe something like ByteGuardian to repair? (I know.. wishful thinking)
- File tool to extract a system file from the Windows CD (this is the only thing I miss about Windows 98 )
- List files on drive by accessed, modified, or creation date with option to list by program rather than all individual files (similar to MS Supoprt Tools Visual File Info) and maybe read the log of executed programs (I know it exists in Windows, but don't know where)
- Random data algorythims for secure deletion (ie, DoD & Guttman methods)
- Plug-ins. If you build it, they will come...
- A launchbar to run 3rd party apps from within jv16 (just imagine having access to all the SysInternals tools from jv16!)
- Event triggers for privacy protector, such as closing of arbitrary programs, or at least ability to schedule with task scheduler. If it is possible to have event trigger after program close then have an option to pop-up components, like cookie manager, after browser close
- Context menu item to Google registry and file entries
- HOSTS file editor, including merge and switch
- A few privacy reg tweaks for things like clear pagefile at shutdown, disable user tracking, etc. You could probably make this a tab in the Registry Manager
Backup tool options:
- Icon in the main window
- Full registry backup
- System files backup (with ability to add user defined files & file types, like drivers) and do CRC checking of backed up files
- Automation capability in the automation tool and with a task scheduler, including options to have only a set amount of backup files, deleting old backups when saving new ones
Registry manager options:
- Context menu editor
- View, edit, disable, uninstall drivers
- LSP editor
- ActiveX components
Whew, ok.. I know that's a lot to ask, but hopefully there's at least a few gems in there :) Basically, I would like it if I only ever had to open one program (yours) to take care of all system maintenance and analysis tasks, and automate it all from one place. I would also like to not have to install a handful of little utilities (like ntregopt and erunt) to fill in the little things.
Thanks!
