File Tool

Although listed as under other tools in the help system I have been unable to locate this tool under any menus of the main menu.

to get around this I have had to use the "Find Files" and then drag and drop to utilise the mass rename that I find to be the most common tool I use in this mode.

Have I missed something - please tell me where you have relocated this tool too.

The File Tool can be accessed either via the File Finder or the File Cleaner.

Or, you can simply drag and drop files to the product's Main Window and it will show the files in the File Tool.

The File Tool of the jv16 PowerTools 2005 is a general tool which allows you to view a list of files and do many operations to them. In jv16 PowerTools 1.4.1 the File Tool also had an integrated file searching features, these were separated to new tools called the File Finder and File Cleaner to give the user many more new options.

The separation of the File Tool in jv16 PowerTools 1.4.1 -> jv16 PowerTools 2005 wasn't done just for fun but mainly because the 1.4.1's File Tool was just so full of features it was really difficult to add any new ones because the GUI was already so full, there was not much free space left.

So, instead of having one "monster tool" with a complicated GUI there's now 3 different, simple yet powerful tools: the File Finder, File Cleaner and the File Tool.
