thank you for your reply. the following answers to your questions:
- installation of jv16 2006 without any problems
- first opening of the software
- looking into the handbook
- start of registry cleaner under the conditions as given by the installation: normal scan selection. normal mode
- having a look to the report list of the cleaner: if I recall correct, somewhat like 900 error points of different categories
- closed registry cleaner, stopped jv16 2006
- made a backup of w2k, programms and system status
- restarted jv16 2006 to test registry cleaner
- start of registry cleaner in normal scan selection, normal mode
- starting to check on a statistical basis the different catagories of errors out from the above 900. after having checked I marked the corresponding errors
- start of repairing ( 2nd button from the left )
- somewhat like 10 to 15 % of the errors tipically could be repaired the rest was deleted
- marked all errors and repaired or deleted them by jv16 2006
- closed jv16 2006 and made a restart of the computer
- very fast start up as expected: positiv!
- next 2 or 3 days normal working with the computer: nothing to remark
- after that period test of the software manager was started
- the listing of the software manager showed a software, which I do not use anymore. due to the fact, that it consisted out of three different blocks according the software manager, I decided to deinstall this package with the Add/Remove Programs tool in Control Panel
- having closed the software manager I detected, that the Add/Remove Programs tool in Control Panel could not be opened, anymore as already described
what I expect is a software, which does not negatively influence the rest of the software without any warning in advance!
