Update on the eight previously mentioned sites under direct control by the pirates:

These links still deadend at rotating gif images stored on an ifastnet.com location (probably -- IP=209.190.16.82):

http://four.fsphost.com/brainlab/ (Mass Mail Tools page -- a download link deadends at the rotating gif images; a "Purchase now" link goes to the payment site)

Cracked and renamed versions of jv16 PowerTools 2006 and the other known pirated products were stored at these sites, which appear to be down now:

It is no longer possible to download the pirated software from download services, such as this one, which link to the pirate's sites.

It is still possible to download pirated programs from download services, such as this one, which link to "mirrored" copies of the pirated programs.

I don't have a CNET membership. I suggest that someone who does make a "review" of each of the four pirated versions of jv16 PowerTools 2006 at the above referenced CNET site. Something like this:

"This progam is a pirated and cracked version of Macecraft Software's jv16 PowerTools 2006. For more information, see this topic at the Macecraft Software Forums: http://www.macecraft.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1633 ... "

While searching, it looked to me like CNET and affiliates have spread the pirated products worldwide. :(

Their payment page is still up and running at DigitalRiver's Swreg service. I sent them the DMCA complaint on 27.12.2006, I wonder how long it takes for them to actually stop processing transactions for these criminals...

Apparently the three deadend links are a mechanism for hiding the sites' contents.

I just downloaded a suspect version of "DVDIdle Pro 5.10" (the legitimate version is a product of Fengtao Software Inc.).

When I clicked "Download" at this page: http://www.download-by.net/system-utilities/file-and-disk-management/354067,dvdidle-pro-510.html -- then "Primary download", a download occurred from http://brainlabsoft.phpnet.us/DVDIdlePro.php.

When I executed the downloaded installer package, a pop-up goes to http://usd.swreg.org/soft_shop/45085/shopscr16.shtml when you click "Buy now."

So http://www.phpnet.us and http://www.ifastnet.com and http://www.php1h.com need to shut down the pirate sites they are hosting for Brainlab and Softlab ... who knows what else is hidden there ...

Finally the payment site of these crooks has been closed down by Digital River. You can still browse "their" products but you can't purchase anything.

JV16, if the thieves are still pirating your software, the Federal Trade Commission here in the U.S. can help close them down. They will also communicate with gov't offices and sites in other countries. At a slow governmental pace.
