Hi all,
A couple of days ago I purchased a Brother multifunction Printer and Fax MFC 7820N, and consequently installed the MFL-PRO Suite software that comes with it and that allows to communicate with the machine via my desktop computer.
I found out that JV16 2006 deleted a registry key during a registry cleaner sweep thus preventing the above-mentioned software from opening, unabling any communication with the printer.
Here is the description of that key:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
; File created by TBackupTool
; Component version: 1.4
; Component used by: jv16 PowerTools 2006
; Program version: 1.5.2.344
; File Description: FaxInboxPath : File or directory "C:\Program Files\Brother\Brmfl04g\Fax received" does not exist
; Date: 05.10.2006
; Time: 20
"FaxInboxPath"="C:\\Program Files\\Brother\\Brmfl04g\\Fax received"
There are 4 other keys related to the Brother software, but their disappearance didn't affect its opening. Maybe different functions contained in that "soft" won't work without them, however Ididn't have the time or the courage to check it out. I am glad already I found out what caused my initial trouble.
This message may help perhaps the creators of JV16.
