New RegSupreme Pro is slow? [Was: Problem with new Regsupre]

I just upgraded to the new (1.4.0.45) Pro version, and have noticed that the new version is considerably slower doing the scan for a cleanup. That is, it takes many times longer than it used to. For example, a scan I just did took 908 seconds (that's 15 minutes !) on a 2ghz machine with 768mb ram. It used to take around a couple of minutes. I saw a similar report by someone else on Betanews, so I'm not the only one seeing this. Is it just a side effect of the program actually doing a better job ?

If it's relevant, I uninstalled the old version before installing this one.

Could you use a stop watch to estimate how many seconds it takes to finish?

I just tested the same thing on my work computer and here are the results:

RegSupreme Pro 1.2: 58 seconds

RegSupreme Pro 1.4: 37 seconds

In theory, the RegSupreme Pro 1.4 does analyze a lot more data than the old version. This is because 1.4 contain the new registry cleaner engine (of PT 2006) which also analyzes the encrypted HRZR entries, the old 1.2 doesn't analyze them at all. This could explain why the procedure could take a longer time.

Like I said, the scan used to take about 1-2 minutes with the old version. After the upgrade, the program itself said the scan had taken 908 seconds, and I'm pretty sure that's about right. It was definitely scanning for around 15 minutes, which is something like 7-10 times longer than it used to take to do the same task. Definitely *something* wrong there.

Ok - I've just installed the program on another machine. This one is a 2800 processor, with 1gb memory. The scan on this one took 585 seconds. Again, I've used the older version before on this one, and the scan used to take around a minute, so again that's close to a tenfold increase.

That doesn't sound right. I have now done some changes which, I hope, will fix the problem.

The next version with these changes included will be released later today or on Monday.

I did a little "Speed"- comparison of different RegistryTools of Macecraft:

Registry Size: 16 MB - 191254 keys - 393773 entries.

PowerTools 1.5.344:

Normal: 19.8 s / 60 errors

Aggressive: 61 s / 254 errors

RegSupreme Pro 1.2.038:

Normal: 25 s / 90 errors

Aggressive: 61 s / 90 errors

RegSupreme Pro 1.4.045:

Normal: 20 s / 79 errors

Aggressive: 60 s / 261 errors

RegSupreme 1.4.046:

Normal: 20 s / 79 errors

Aggressive: 61 s / 261 errors

So my conclusion just can be:

The new RegSupreme Pro is working faster than the older version

Just downloaded the 048 version, and a scan now takes well under a minute. As previously reported, the 045 version took 585 seconds on this same machine. So whatever it was, I consider it fixed ....
