I'm currently using Reg Supreme 1.3.

What must I do to install the newer version of Reg Supreme 1.4.

Should I uninstall the older version first.

but in the Macecraft Software Product Newsletter, 31.07.2006 15 I received, I read this:

"An updated version of RegSupreme released. The updated version contains a fix to one serious bug present in RegSupreme 1.4.0.45, the bug caused the product sometimes to remove valid data from the registry. However, all the possible problems can be easily fixed by simply restoring the automatically created backup files.

"This update is highly recommended to all users who are using RegSupreme 1.4.

"The new version's version number is 1.4.0.46. You can install it over any previous versions of RegSupreme 1.4

"The updated version is free for the license owners of RegSupreme, RegSupreme Pro, jv16 PowerTools 2005 and jv16 PowerTools 2006.

"The new version can be downloaded from our downloads page at http://www.macecraft.com/downloads/

Well, what's right now: install the new version over any previous version of RegSupreme 1.4 or not :? I don't know anymore. As to myself, I have installed the latest version 1.4.0.46 over the previous version and nothing went wrong so far.

But I think for safety's sake it might be better to uninstall the previous version first. However you might loose your existing backups then, so you'll have to backup those backups first and then restore them :

Yes this is a bit confusing, but I understood it the following way.

The information, I directed to, was for the initial version of 1.4 final.

"The new version number is 1.4.0.45. Do not install the new version over any previous versions of the product."

But the Newsletter you are mentioning is talking about the updated version .46 and therefore you might

"... install it over any previous versions of RegSupreme 1.4

And as "frankie" do still have version 1.3 I think the uninstall of 1.3 is a must,

of course after backing up of the Backup- and may be the Data-folder too.
