RegSupreme 1.4: Registry path abbreviation or not, vote!

As you probably know, jv16 PowerTools 2006 supports registry key abbreviation.

In other words, a key of:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\

Is shown by default as:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\

User can change the policy from the Settings in a way the product shows the registry paths in the shortest possible form by also abbreviating common sub-keys, for example:

HKCU\Soft\MSoft\Win\

As you can see, this saves a lot of screen space.

Now, I can't add an option to RegSupremes to ask the user about this because I can't change the user interface to preserve compatibility with the current translations.

So, should RegSupremes abbreviate registry paths by default? The result of this poll will determine the policy of the next versions of these products.

The results are interpreted in the following manner:

If there are more "no" votes than the "yes" votes combined, the "no" wins.

If the combined sum of "yes" votes are larger than the number of "no" votes, "yes" wins. Should this happen, the method of abbreviation is selected based on which yes-option receives the most votes.

For example, if the poll ends with the following results:

No - 10 votes

Yes, always show the short form of the root key - 6 votes

Yes, always show the shortest possible form - 5 votes

the "yes" votes win (since 6+5 > 10) and the "Yes, always show the short form of the root key" is selected as the winner (since 6 > 5).

I'd love to vote, but you don't really give that option here. Looks like all the votes are already in.

I followed the link in your latest email (the one with the last version of RegSupreme in it). Is the voting happening somewhere else?
