I don't know if PT 2006 is the culprit here, but 1 day after making a deep registry cleaning in reference mode and a registry compaction, my Start Menu started to present a strange problem. Sometimes it goes totally black where the names of the programs should be (first column) and the sub menus (second column) stop to expand anymore (My Computer, All Programs and Control Panel for example).
I get also this message "Windows cannot create a shortcut here" when this happens and I click "Run".
I have restores of the deleted things, the bad thing is that I have installed some things after I made the registry cleaning. I have uninstalled my old Sun Java JRE and installed the new latest Java 5 from Sun for example.
- Will restoring the deleted registry entries affect the new installed programs?
- Do you have any idea how can I fix this problem with the Start Menu? I have Googled for this but came almost empty of anything useful from the search.
