Registry cleaner and BSOD Bad_pool_caller error

Hi all,

I recently ran the registry cleaner and followed the directions to a 'T'. When I rebooted the next day I got this error and got no futher. I am using Norton Internet Security 2006 and WinXP Pro Sp2 with all the updates. I think the problem was with Norton becasuse I could see the icon in the tray blink and then I got the BSOD.

But when i restore the previously deleted seetings everything seems back to 'normal'. I don't understand what I am doing wrong...

Were you running Quick select: Aggressive?

Were there any Norton/Symantec items on the RC list? If so, you might post the details (Key, Entry's name, Value, Error description).

The only thing I did was move the file C:\\ downloads to E:\\downloads

I see two Symantec items. What was the Registry Cleaner "Error description" for them?

What were the error descriptions (there could be more than one line)?

Both were High. The problem is and was is that they do exsist, but it appears that the reg cleaner incorrectly identified them?

Sounds like a bug to me ... until jv16 responds, you better put Symantec and Norton in the RC Ignore words tab.

I created both directories in question and created registry entries to the registry pointing to them, but the registry cleaner doesn't list them as invalid.

Please send a screenshot showing that both of the directories exist and that jv16 PT's Registry Cleaner still lists them as errors.
