Difficulty with license

Initially upgraded (free) from jv16 PowerTools 2005 to 2006 on PC with W2K Pro, license for max five personal uses. Have purchased a laptop with XP Pro and used the 2006 PC installer but unable to enter a license (no designated window). Program listed as a Trial Version. License file listed as being in the data2.xbin I then open that file and window says to restart jv16. Do so but still a Trial Version.

Do I need to copy and install the data2.xbin from the PC to the laptop orwhat is the solution? Txs.

The key file is the license.xbin originally sent in e-mail when you purchased PT 2005. However, the three data*.xbin are also required.

Txs much for the info about the License.xbin which although present on both the PC and new laptop showed a difference. The PC file was 3kb and the laptop 2kb as well as an older date. Copied and pasted from PC to laptop and voila opened jv16 PT which not only had my name in the title bar for license but also the License information window now showed the license to be in License.xbin whereas before it stated Data2.xbin

Strange ... wonder what the 2 KB license.xbin is? Even my jv16pt v.1.4.xxx license.xbin dated 4/4/2004 is 3 KB. Oh well, glad your problem is solved.
