Preference save forgets what you last said ...
Your Preference saving is set to "Enable the manual saving of the preferences of previous settings."
You start (for example) File Finder, select a previously saved named preference from the drop down list, and run the search. Based on the current results, you either:
1. Accept the result and do nothing to preferences, or
2. Iteratively modify the search and rescan until you get the desired result.
At that point you either:
1. Do nothing -- the modified scan has no future utility.
2. Replace the existing named preference -- the modified scan gives a better result for future use.
3. Create a new but similarly named preference by (for example) adding a suffix -- the existing and new named preferences both have future utility.
4. Create a new preference with a completely different name.
For cases 2, 3, and 4, you of course click the preference save widget. Unfortunately, the preference save name entry pop-up is not populated with the name already chosen and still showing in the drop down list. So in cases 2 and 3, you can not accept or edit the name but must retype what PT already knows. In case 4, you would of course type the completely different name.
So, jv, please fix this in a not-too-distant future release. You set a precedent for this type change here.
