Cookie Manager not working?

I have selected to change the status of many cookies that are on the "keep" list. Tried to move them to "remove" list.

But the program won't do it.

Anyone else encounter a similar problem?

Also, JV 16 seems to be automatically saving new cookies to the "keep" list instead of unknown.

Yes, context menu moves do not work reliably -- Look here.

Examine your white list closely ... may be something there causing this.

My white list is empty. It used to not be, but I deleted all the white list info. I also deleted all the entries on my black list. After I did this, the cookie manager started saving all cookies in the keep list. So then I added *.com and *.net to the black list. But it still puts every cokkie on the keep list.

When I first downloaded JV 16 2006 this feature was working, but now is not. Do yo think I should I uninstall/reinstall?

I went back and emptied out the white list and black list completely. I think I may have had an obscure or vague reference in the white list that I could not see. So I deleted everything.

That got JV16 putting cookies by default to the unknown.

Well, even just a single "Blank" makes that every Cookie from Unknown is moved to Keep.

Another strange behaviour I realized is.

Moving a Cookie, with right-click from Unknown to Keep,

it disappears instantly from Unknown,

check at Keep, it's there,

come back to Unknown and, oh wonder, the same Cookie is recreated here.

So the Cookie is in both, Unknown and Keep.

Also if a Cookie is removed - with right-click menu - it is allways recreated afterwards.

This happens also in History Manager.

Yes, those problems have been in jv16PT for a while.

A semi new thread. I can't seem to get the History Manager or Cookie Manager to work. Each time I click either, I get "Please, shut down your browser and try again. This is required to make sure the browser and jv16PT 2006 don't try to edit the same data at the same time." Logically I don't have any browser in sight and Windows Task Manager confers. Even uninstalling firefox leads to the same result. Not that I use these features that much but you'd think it would know if a browser is running or not. I doubt firefox is too blame but there are a few current problems such as the pictures in cache superseding my ftp server and say now, ebay not picturing. P.S. page 71 and 72 of the PDF manual contradict. (i.e., for firefox alone vs. firefox and IE)

I looked at those pages. Page 72 has a typo -- "History Manager" should read "Cookie Manager."

For me too, absolutly no problems, even if activating History Manager or Cookie Manager soon after closing the Browsers.

That' strange. I've got 3 browsers. IE, firefox and Mozilla. Mozilla was there in the process tab on startup. I removed it and History/Cookie Managers worked fine.

I had terminated firefox from the Process tab in Windows Task Manager. That led to an unexpected need for firefox to close (complete with customer feedback). (I'm presuming this was the cause for the delayed crash.) This time before clicking the History Manager I found firefox residing in the Process tab again, and with it nowhere in sight. I then clicked firefox and gently clicked Exit and things went Ok. I'd stay away from terminating an executable if at all possible. Dale

Hi,

I am using the program Win Patrol Plus. It also has a cookie manager.

It is known by now that the cookie manager in jv Power Tools 2006 does not work correct.

Under UNKNOWN it shows 681 entries. Under KEEP it shows 30 entries. Now I noticed that after trying to delete cookies in jv 2006 it does not work with jv 16, but does delete the KEEP cookies in Win Patrol. The KEEP cookies are acctually those I want to keep, but the are gone.

Anybody noticed that his cookies are gone?

The programs don't talk to each other, so you have to choose the one you want to use and disable cookie management in the others.
