I uninstalled jv16 2006 first through Add\Remove program. jv16 2005 then removed through the uninstall file in that folder. Rebooted and installed jv16 2006 again. I had saved "license.xbin" and copied it to jv16 2006 folder.
When trying to run jv16 2006, the same thing happens. The opening screen appears and "jv16 Power Tools 2006 - Licensed to: Ron Chilliak" and File, Show, Tools & Help is greyed out. Even when I do get it bold highlited, I cannot access anything - the screen seems to be frozen at this point. By right clicking on the taskbar and choosing close, gets me out of the program.
I had contacted Eset Tech Support for NOD32 A.V. and they suggested I try to exclude "C:\Program Files\jv16 Power Tools 2006". This was done but no change in my problem.
Yet, the program works fine in Safe Mode. I have Windows 98 SE and a PII 400 computer.
Although jv16 2005 took quite a while to load, at least it was functional. Now I no longer have the option of accessing that program.
