I'd mentioned that too, here somewhere, a while back. I'm not particularly concerned about changing between tabs, but I'd definitely like to see a return to how it was handled in "antique" versions of PT. Then, "new" was automatically changed to "old" when you restarted PT, and "new" referred only to new installations (or updated versions) of whatever since the previous use of PT.
